Such a beautiful essay! And I do believe your haphazard packing was a blessing… allowing for the unexpected and resulting in an enriching holiday in ways you hadn’t foreseen. xx
I think it might have been a blessing in disguise, as it was lovely to switch off for a while. It went very quickly but was much appreciated. Thank you xx
I thoroughly enjoyed your article this morning, Deborah. I'd been feeling a bit grumpy but it reminded me to take some time out and enjoy the sights around me. I will also be checking out Maggie Brown's work. It's gorgeous. Thank you.
Thank you, Gillian, for taking the time to read it. It is so easy to forget to see what is about you and it has made me think afresh about the landscape here, although coming back from somewhere so beautiful is always a bit of a bump. Her work is well worth investigating!
So interesting to view the development of a work of art, to get a glimpse of the creative process. For that reason I love to read the unedited version of writers' notebooks and journals. They reveal the authentic voice, which is often similar to ours.
I love the Pembrokeshire coast...and all it's nuances ! Isn't that gallery space fab, and what a great idea to exhibit the mood board, the hawthorn (I too love their sculpted hunched forms!) Great inspirations - thx!
Thank you, Carolyn. It is a bit of a jolt being back! I loved it there and wish I could have added more images, but I had reached my limit. It is a marvellous exhibition and such a treat to see.
I enjoyed Clare Baldings walk and talk with Jackie Morris and Tamsin Abbott who I follow on instagram. I’d meant to listen but had forgotten so thank you for the reminder. I love Alan Garners writing and remember being gripped by the television series when I was young and spending ages carefully drawing the owl/ flowers design.
So lovely. Thank you for taking us along on this wonderful trip. Sometimes it’s hard to know when you need a break. But I think you chose your break wisely!
Wow Deborah, was a lovely post, I am going to save this to read later, something I rarely do with newsletters. It's beautiful. Nicola x
Thank you very much, Nicola, that is so cheering to hear x
Lovely. And great linnet photo!
A very lucky one! It is the first time I have heard one sing.

That is exactly the reason I love them too.
Just beautiful.
Thank you very much, Maria.

Wonderful, makes me want to take the long drive to west Wales & see the landscape (& Maggie Brown's artwork) for myself!
Thank you very much. It is such along way from her, but so worth the journey!
The Children of the Stones had such an impact on me as a child. I've bookmarked the podcasts to listen to later, thanks for that.
I have just watched the original version and it has aged surprisingly well. I loved the podcast as it is such an interesting update on it. Enjoy!
I really enjoyed your post. I liked your photos of Maggie Browns work, it was interesting to see her mood board.I shall check out her work.
THank you very uch, Gill, I am so glad you enjoyed it.

It was much needed. I am so glad I needed to have a complete break in such a beautiful place.
That is good timing! So wonderful to just soak it in.
