Breathtaking prints! I love printmaking and have been feeling a tug in my heart for a return; and I am so curious about the gel plates, I love your prints. Those poppies are delicious! That is very interesting about Degas, thank you for the little lesson. I can’t wait to see more of your prints, they are so inspiring.

This is a great way to return. You don't have time to think, or worry about the outcome. It is a very freeing process! Thank you very much, I am so pleased you like them and for taking the time to read it.

That sounds perfect. I’m going to have to dig out my supplies soon.

This was gorgeous - and so illuminating about the creative process. (Early Salley Vickers often interweaves myth and contemporary narrative - maybe Mr. Golightly's Holiday?)

Thank you very much, I am so glad you liked it. I hadn't thought of Sally Vickers and although I loved Miss Garnett's Angel, I don't know why I haven't read more. I shall remedy that, thank you!

I never would have guessed Degas created that landscape. Thank you for the discovery—and your gorgeous poppies.

They are extraordinary images, aren't they? I loved your piece on the Little Dancer. Sadly, I am not sure I would have liked him very much much. I am glad you liked the poppies!

He wasn’t likeable, was he? But what an artist. I particularly admire his portraits. He could see people’s essence even if he couldn’t connect with them.

He was wonderful and so innovative with materials and processes. And goodness, he could draw.

Your monoprints are so very beautiful Deborah, and I love the immediacy of this type of printmaking. I think no matter what, there are ways through to keep being creative and sometimes it leads to something even more exciting. I found that with my collages and I love making them. I really do think you are on to something special here (I always thought that about your photography too).

I love the quote from your friend as I’m quite a bit in my head with creative ideas and not always the best at actual doing.

I am definitely going to check out those recommendations-I think I listened to the Welsh drama on iplayer and loved it. X

Thank you very much, Cally, I really appreciate your support. There will be a way, I just have to keep doing! It is hard to take that step sometimes, but I always feel better for just getting on ( though it can take a while to get to that point!)

Your collages are so beautiful as such a perfect way to develop your prints further.

If you liked "Curious", you will love"On Mardle Fen", it is so beautifully written x

These new monotypes are beautiful, & it's fascinating to read of the process & how & why Edgar Degas used this technique.

Your prints are beautiful! I found the Degas stuff very interesting too. And you’re making me want to revisit Curious under the stars - I started listening a while ago and got distracted.

Your monoprints are a joy! I find the alchemy of making prints so fascinating. I bought a gelliplate several years ago, but haven’t used it - you’ve inspired me to dig it out and have a go xx

Thank you, I have loved doing them! It is such a brilliant process and a great way to try out ideas. I have wanted to try monoprinting for a while but hadn't considered the gelli plate as an option, but it is perfect! Xx
